Bokeh is the aesthetic use of blurred or out of focus imagery in photography. The term comes from the Japanese word boke (暈け or ボケ), which means “blur” or “haze”
French artist Stanislaus Giroux used his trusty Canon 550D and added a smattering of gunpowder to record a piece of visual eye candy I know you’re going to enjoy.
As an advocate for gay marriage, I really think this is hilarious. And it’s proved something I’ve felt for ages…..I AM LESBIAN. I LOVE women too! 🙂
Anyone who pokes fun at Putin earns my respect. As does anyone who stands up for LGBT rights and fights against their discrimination. So I really like this little gem, which does both!
This satirical video, created for the Gay Women Channel, pokes fun at Putin and the sad fact at how the Russian government are increasingly homophobic. With the recent anti-gay propaganda bullshit laws that were passed, and the continued violence against the LGBT community across Russia, one would think they they were afraid of “catching” gayness by way of a contagious disease or something.
With the impending Winter Olympics in Sochi next year, and the call from LGBT athletes to boycott the games as a protest against discrimination against the LGBT community, the Gay Women Channel decided to mock Putin’s stance by depicting two very camp stewards doing their safety demonstration on board the most anti-gay airline (albeit fictional) in the world, Putin Airlines 🙂
Pay attention, or you will be cuffed!
…..This Is Worse. And It’s Real.
WARNING – EXTREMELY GRAPHIC. MAY CAUSE SOME READERS DISTRESS.
If you thought the dirtiest place your handbag has ever been is the floor of a public toilet, then you haven’t seen anything yet! This is NSFW and is extremely graphic, but it’s an important truth that we need to face and spread to others.
It’s high time that the fashion industry, and those who support it, either as consumers, advertisers or designers, looked for alternatives to the cruel and inhumane slaughter of animals, which is all done in the vain attempt to “look good”. Please take the time to watch the video to understand exactly WHY this truly barbaric practice needs to STOP!
This week’s Science Saturday has Scishow’s Hank begin with a four part series on the fundamental forces (or interactions) of physics begins with the strong force or strong interaction – which on the small scale holds quarks together to form protons, neutrons and other hadron particles……not to be confused with the Jedi Force that was strong in Luke Skywalker!
Belgian photographer, Boris Godfroid, has created a wonderfully captivating short nature film, entitled ‘Life on Moss’.
Shot using a Nikon D7000 and filmed from noon till sunrise, it stars snails and insects exploring a vibrant, rain-soaked moss.
I see he has the same problem with snails in his garden as I do.
It’s this generation’s “Robert Palmer-esque” music video, with a shit storm of controversy that’s followed it and seen it removed and returned to You Tube. What am I talking about? I’m talking about that Robin Thicke video.
Slated for it’s sexist lyrics and topless models, it’s garnered itself a reputation amongst feminists the world over for its female objectification (and I don’t object at all myself). But Seattle based boylesque troupe, Mod Carousel, have gone toe-to-toe with Thicke and have created a rather funny and sexy parody of Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” music video (see below).
They’re opinion is
“that most attempts to show female objectification in the media by swapping the genders serve more to ridicule the male body than to highlight the extent to which women get objectified and does everyone a disservice. We made this video specifically to show a spectrum of sexuality as well as present both women and men in a positive light, one where objectifying men is more than alright and where women can be strong and sexy without negative repercussions.”
I think they do an awesome job in both parodying the original video and in replicating the sound of the original song.
No matter what way you slice and dice it though, the original video will go down history and join the legendary Robert Palmer video in the hall of fame.
