Watching this makes me cringe, and for many different reasons. The first thing that makes me cringe is the fact that this uneducated muppet openly voices her racist opinions in a tram full of foreigners, whilst all the while her young son sits on her lap.
That’s the second thing that makes me cringe. What kind of values must she be instilling in her child? For starters, I’d bet good money that whilst she makes remarks along the lines of foreigners (of all persuasions) are in “her country” taking all the jobs, she’s most likely on benefits herself and probably will be for the foreseeable future. In the meantime, the people she is insulting are probably gainfully employed and paying their taxes over to Her Majesty. But this type of welfare troll exists the world over. They existed in one form or another in the communist Soviet Union, and in the form of “jobsworths” today in the UK and Ireland, and benefit cheats all across Europe and the USA.
Rather than seeing the world through the prism of “If I try to get myself a good education, then I can do well for myself when I get older”, they view the world through the lens of “entitlement”. In other words, they should be “entitled” to welfare benefits, free social housing, food stamps etc, oh and by the way….keep those pesky foreigners out of my country.
Sadly, this is becoming more and more prevalent across Europe. And if the news is anything to go by over here in the Netherlands, then it seems that Johnny Foreigner is to blame for everything. I won’t be surprised if we get blamed for the lack of any sunshine next summer!!
So these welfare trolls teach their kids that there’s no point in bothering with school, because you can always live off the dole, oh, and feel free to hate anyone who looks different to you, because that’s your right…”innit!”
The third thing that makes me cringe is the fact that this video was uploaded onto YouToob and reportedly used to arrest the woman in question on “suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence”. I have no problem with the arresting bit, because I find that it’s totally justifiable. But what I personally have a problem with is that this woman’s own liberties have been taken away from her. Yes, it’s fine to have a right to free speech, freedoms of expression and the right to have your own personal convictions. Personally I do not think what she was saying on the tram could be accused as an “intention to incite racial hatred”. Rather, it should be seen for what it really is…..a low class, uneducated, bigoted, welfare dependent moron, spouting off on the tram. But is it right to film her, without her consent, and then plaster it all over YouToob?
Given the speed at which stuff travels all over the world these days via the internet, everyone in her community will have by now seen this on the internet. So if she was to amend her opinions and outlook on life (highly unlikely, but one must give the benefit of the doubt) and she recanted all the racist and hateful things she spouted, tried to get herself a job and become a valuable contributor to society, do you think she could now? I guarantee you that any prospective new employer, having seen this, wouldn’t even give her the time of day, let alone an interview. In fact, she could even argue that the recording and distribution of this video has invaded her right to privacy, thus impacting on her very quality of life and independence and thus she is now unemployable.
I am not in any way condoning racism. In this day and age, and given that fact that today’s modern nations are made up of centuries of invasions from other nations, as well as huge waves of immigration in the last two centuries, there is no such thing anymore as a “pure state”. Hitler tried doing that in the 1930’s, the Balkan’s went to war in the 1990’s and Africa has been in the midst of it for the last two decades. It’s high time that we all realised that we are all children of mongrel nations and that we’re the better for it. But do think the next time before you go posting stuff on the internet. Otherwise it might be YOU in the dock, not the person you were filming!
